Old Rochester Regional makes sure its students are connected

Mar 18, 2020

On March 18, The Old Rochester Regional School District provided a number of wifi resources for students who may not have reliable access to wifi at home during the coronavirus school closures.

The school used the coronavirus section of its website, which contains other resources for families, to deliver the message. .

On the site, the school said that Comcast is offering an “Internet Essentials” program which would allow qualifying families to receive two free months of Internet service. In addition, Xfinity Wifi hotspots will be available for use for free to any user with or without a subscription.

In the update, the district provided a photo of a map that displays where there are Xfinity Wifi hotspots in the Tri-Town.

Those who choose the Comcast option can cancel at any time, or continue the plan after the free two-month trial, with monthly payments of $9.95.

To apply for Comcast’s “Internet Essential” program, call 855-846-8376 or visit  www.InternetEssentials.com

Students will be asked to provide their contact information and school name. No other paperwork is required.

This is a trying time for everyone, but it's nice to see that Comcast is offering this great service to students in need.
